Rajasthan’s first and largest Cycle Rental and Bicycle Sharing services provider Pink Pedals is a unique women led entrepreneurial start-up which not only focuses on providing Sustainable Mobility solutions to the society, but also promotes cycling and motivate people to start cycle again with the Vision of Clean, Green & Healthy habitat. Founded in 2017, Pink Pedals is chosen in top 26 startups of Rajasthan in 2017 only.

Concept

Pink Pedals, where cycling is a habit, is a bold initiative towards society in which we are working to provide all age groups a better idea of how to be fit, healthy and happy with minimum efforts. Pink Pedals is for everyone, men, women, and children.

Pink Pedals in a unique and new concept to promote cycling, we provide good quality, high end geared and Non-geared cycles on rent. We are specialised in organising corporate cycling events, Cyclothons, Customised Cycling city tours, sale of Premium E-Bikes.

We also work with corporates to ensure wellness and healthy living of employee’s. We promote Cycle with Work with our hashtag #CycletoWork #CycleWithWork

Our Vision is our commitment towards betterment of our environment and our people.
We aim to bring a transformation of Mobility to Sustainable Mobility and create values in the society. Our focused area is to prioritising old, but yet a new way of commutation and leisure i.e. CYCLES.

Founder

Mrs. Pooja Vijay, the woman behind Pink Pedals was shocked and shattered after hearing the news about Delhi becoming the most polluted city in the world in 2016, so much so that she decided to take matters into her own hands and started her own bicycle-renting service in Pinkcity Jaipur.

Born and brought up in Jaipur, a Commerce and Law graduate she has experience of more than 5 years in corporates like Infosys and Genpact.
A mother and a well-qualified service women turned-entrepreneur, Pooja got candid about how her love for the pink city made her choose the name Pink Pedals thereby, paying a fitting tribute to the city that made her what she is.
Started in July-2017 with only 9 cycles, huge demand & re-interest of citizens in cycling have increased our fleet of cycles to more than 300 for all age groups and all types.

Pooja believes that cycling is about the affirmation of freedom of mind and spirit. In addition to people movement, we aim for a cleaner city and a healthy sustainable environment. People movement on cycles will avoid traffic jams, congestion and bring down the pollution levels. A healthy populace is a spin-off benefit.

SAFETY TIPS

DO’S

  • Ride on:- As a rule, it is best to ride in the direction of traffic, staying as far to the left as is practical. However, always make sure there is room to handle emergencies and that you do not ride so close to the left that you run the risk of hitting the road sides.
  • Safety Gears:- Regardless of the type of cycling you are doing, always wear a helmet and other safety gears. Make sure your Helmet is properly fastened and fitted and not move when you shake your head.
  • Brakes:- Make sure your brakes are always in top-notch condition. Be aware of how weather and road conditions can affect your ability to brake. Under normal circumstance, apply the rear brake before the front brake. Use the rear brake for smooth gradual slowing down. Use the front brake for more abrupt and efficient braking. Only brake when the front wheel is straight.
  • Clothings:- Wear bright or light-coloured clothing during the day and reflective or fluorescent clothing at night or in poor visibility conditions.
  • Locking:- Always lock your cycle to prevent it from being taken away.
  • Remember 1 Seat = Only 1 rider.
  • Always use hand signals when stopping or turning
  • When you are part of a cycling group, ride single-file, not side-by-side.

DON’T

  • Do not ride on the road towards oncoming traffic.
  • Do not ride on "Expressway" or within "Tunnel Area”.
  • Do not hold onto other vehicles while pedalling.
  • Do not use mobile phone and earphone for music listening.
